Our Story
Located on Long Beach Island, New Jersey.
We were always summer people but in 2006 our family decided to make Long Beach Island our permanent home. Waking up and going to sleep to the sounds of the waves was what we wanted. A few years were spent on Dock Road in Beach Haven until an opportunity was presented in 2008 to run the "little deli in Holgate." We packed up our bags and surfboards, and other beach necessities and moved to the mile marker 0 (the beginning of the island as we say.)
And so it began... Many people ask... have you ran a deli before? A business? Anything? And the answer was always no. But, why not? Our first few summers were learning years. We added items, deleted items, painted, and re-painted until the little deli became a representation of the Bowker family and what we are all about. In 2018 we added a second location in Spray Beach. A bagel shop at heart that has turned into so much more.
14 years, 1 hurricane, and 1 Pandemic later: we are still standing (literally) and here to serve you quality food! At Bowker's we have a wide range from serving breakfast all day to the best cheesesteaks around (according to Anthony Bourdain) to our recently added healthy and organic menu. We have all of your beach needs so that your day is only filled with good vibes!
